Hundreds of years ago, Alfonso II, King of Asturias, walked along the oldest pilgrimage route to Santiago, establishing the path we now know as the Primitive Way. We do not know where the people had the honor of welcoming King Alfonso II during his passage through As Seixas, a small Galician village located about 65 kilometers from Santiago, on the edge of the beautiful region of A Ulloa. But what we do know is that today we can offer our home to 21st-century pilgrims who choose this magnificent path to reach Santiago, so they can rest and recharge.
At A Toqueira, we wanted to pay tribute to Galicia?s past and present by converting a traditional farmhouse into a modern tavern and hostel for walkers. We?ve decided to prioritize the quality of our products and the comfort of the pilgrim because we want anyone who chooses to follow in the footsteps of the Asturian monarch to find in As Seixas a place where they can eat and rest like a true king.
